Next up in our Supplier Saturday feature, we’re getting to know the gorgeous Lucie, creator of super beautiful stationary company LuLa.
Lucie isn’t just anyone, she is a wonderful friend of ours and is a joy to know both professionally (super miss organised lady, queen of diaries!) and personally (the sweetest and craziest chick you’re every likely to meet). Which is why we know you’re in safe hands.
We are also excited to show you something very special at our upcoming Wedding Open Day on Sunday 24th June… perhaps a little collaboration with LuLa and our wedding packages! Make sure you’ve registered to attend the Open Day by clicking here. We can’t wait to meet you…
Please introduce yourself and tell us where you’re based.
Hi, I’m Lucie! I’m based in the beautiful seaside town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea…
Can you tell us a little about LuLa?
LuLa (LuLa by Lucie, on social media) was started in April 2017, specialising in creating personalised stationary and design projects. Cards, prints, business logo design & stationary, wedding stationary.
What made you set up LuLa?
It was all about being my own boss, finally doing something I was passionate about and using my creative skills to develop something that was mine!
How would you best describe your style?
Elegantly contemporary with a quirky edge.
What advice would you give to couples when sourcing their wedding suppliers?
Make it known to your supplier what you like and dislike, have opinions – it’s your wedding! The designs I offer are open to adaptations and can be personalised.
We are so excited to have you at our upcoming Wedding Open Day on Sunday 24th June. Can you give us a hint at what you have planned?
Now that would be telling… but I can promise styles and price ranges to suit all. Come along on the 24th June to find out what Jenni and I have been planning for The Arches Country House wedding packages!
Beautiful Lucie, thank you so much for taking the time to answer our “getting to know” questions. We can’t wait to see you on the day!
Don’t forget to head over to our Wedding Open Day event page and register your place for a chance to win a bottle of Champagne and special gift on the day!

This week I’m kicking off our Supplier Saturday feature with a wonderful “Getting to know…” Q&A with Yorkshire Vehicle Hire.
I’m really excited to introduce you to them and all the suppliers I’ll feature over the coming weeks as we count down to our Wedding Open Day on Sunday 24th June.
Tom & Sophie will be joining us to launch our refreshed venue and brand new Wedding Brochure, it sounds to me like they’ll be bringing someone (or something) along that may well steal the show… Vintage Bus anyone?
Please introduce yourself and tell us where you’re based.
Hi, we’re Yorkshire Vehicle Hire – based just outside of Great Ayton.
Can you tell us a little about Yorkshire Vehicle Hire?
At Yorkshire Vehicle Hire we offer a range of unique vehicles from Vintage Land Rovers right through to Range Rovers depending on your wedding style.
What made you set up this fabulous wedding vehicle hire company?
We founded Yorkshire Vehicle Hire in 2017 after we couldn’t find what we wanted for transport for our own wedding day. We did not want the traditional vintage white car to take us to and from the church and wanted something ‘different’. We ended up having a convoy of different Land Rovers from a Vogue to a Series 1 – this gave us the idea and YVH was born.
How would you best describe your style?
We like to do things a bit differently. We are not your traditional vehicle hire company. We love bespoke, unusual and unique!
What advice would you give to couples when sourcing their wedding suppliers?
Speak to your supplier, get to know them and make sure they understand what YOU want from their service.
We are so excited to have you at our upcoming Wedding Open Day on Sunday 24th June. Can you give us a hint at what you have planned?
We will be bringing various Land Rovers from new to old, along with a vintage bus ideal for your bridesmaids or groomsmen.
Thank you so much to Tom and Sophie for telling us a little more about their gorgeous business, I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to see them at The Arches Country House!
Don’t forget to head over to our Wedding Open Day event page and register your place for a chance to win a bottle of Champagne and special gift on the day!

Have you seen all that we are getting up to?
Things are changing everyday, for the better, but with wedding season now upon us we have been slightly distracted and we’re not sharing as much as we should! So, I have decided to start this little blog as a means to document the updates that are taking place!
So where to start, well, at the beginning of 2018 we had a bit of a rejig. The Arches Country House is owned and run by Chris and Linda (Birkbeck) with the help and support of Sharon, the Arches go to lady for everything! Following years of couples asking to get married at the venue, eventually Chris started to say yes and steadily we had noticed that our little B&B by the sea was fast becoming a wonderful wedding haven!
With this year set to be our busiest wedding year yet, the decision was made to put our everything into making our “hidden gem”, a wedding destination to be shouted about. This is where I came in – (hi! I’m Jen), I came on board at the start of the year after closing my little shop, Ruffled Flowers in Saltburn. I came on board because I LOVE this place, I grew up here, got married here and feel so passionate about the venue and the people who live, work and visit that I couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to get involved with making it incredible! (Oh, and Chris and Linda are my uncle and aunt, so I couldn’t really say no!)
Now here we are… I’m sure you have noticed that we have done quite a bit of painting! Well this is set to continue throughout the year… whilst we are aiming for lots to be done before our Wedding Open Day on Sunday 24th June, what we are working towards is so much more than a lick of paint and we are being realistic in thinking that this year is going to be an ongoing task.
There you have it! You’re up to speed with who we are and now I can use this blog to keep you involved in what’s going on (behind the scenes)!

Jen
